AD-LEARN mini-course for Techs and Nurses: The Value and Challenges of Brain SPECT in PET in Neurocognitive Disorders

The course is designed for Technologists and Nurses to enhance their expertise in applying radiopharmaceuticals for AD and MCI diagnosis in nuclear medicine. Participants will learn radiation protection principles, radiolabelling procedures, and waste management. The program also covers novel PET radiotracers for molecular diagnosis of neurocognitive disorders. Additionally, the course addresses patient and caregiver management and the role of Technologists in operating SPECT and PET equipment for AD and MCI imaging. Led by European experts, the interactive sessions will allow participants to engage in discussions and ask questions, fostering a deeper understanding of the subject.

Learning Objectives

  • To gain knowledge about the methods and principles of radiolabelling and waste management with a special focus on radiation protection
  • To become educated in terms of radiotracers used in neurocognitive disorders diagnostic management
  • To learn the radiolabelling procedures’ adverse events basics and errors’ prevention
  • To be informed about the principles and importance of appropriate cooperation between medical professional, patient and their caregiver before, during and after SPECT and PET neurocognitive diseases’ imaging
  • To understand the roles and responsibilities of Technologists and Nurses in the nuclear medicine neurocognitive diseases’ diagnostic management

Registration Details

Course Fee               Registration for this course is free, but we will charge a €100 fee to book your seat, which will be reimbursed upon attendance

Registration Fee includes:

Registration Fee does NOT include:

  • Travel to the Venue
  • Accommodation

Registration fees need to be paid 1 week prior to the event. In case the payment is not received by this deadline, the registration needs to be cancelled. Payment can be settled by Credit Card Cheques will not be accepted

Cancellations must be notified in writing to the EANM Office. Telephone cancellations cannot be accepted. Substitutions will be accepted if the name and e-mail address of the substitute are sent to the EANM Office 4 weeks prior to the event. In the case of cancellation 4 weeks before the course, we will refund you the fee less a € 100,- administration charge. After this date, we cannot grant any refund for cancellations. Any refund will take place after the respective course. EANM will not be held liable for cancellation fees of hotels, airlines or other means of transportation.
