AD-LEARN Mini-course for Residents: How to Start Reading Brain Scans in Neurocognitive Disorders?

The course aims to provide the participants with basic knowledge regarding nuclear and molecular medical imaging in the neurological field. In particular, cerebral SPET and PET will be addressed.

Learning Objectives

  1. Clinical introduction and positioning where imaging is indicated: The aim is to understand the main indications of cerebral SPET and PET methods and the patient’s preparation before the examination.
  2. Primer course: how to read a brain SPECT study: the aim is to understand how to acquire, reconstruct, format and read a perfusion and receptorial brain SPET and SPET/CT. The main clinical patterns will also be presented.
  3. Primer course: how to read an FDG-PET brain study: the aim is to understand how to acquire, reconstruct, format and read an FDG  brain PET/CT. The main clinical patterns will also be presented.
  4. Peer-learning with tips and tricks, and case presentation: the aim is to understand how to acquire, reconstruct, format and read a perfusion and receptorial brain SPET and SPET/CT. The main clinical patterns will also be presented.

Target Audience

Nuclear medicine specialists with little or no experience in reading SPET and PET neurological imaging.

Registration for this course is free, but we will charge a €100 fee to book your seat, which will be reimbursed upon attendance

Registration Fee includes:

Registration Fee does NOT include:

  • Travel to the Venue
  • Accommodation

Registration fees need to be paid 1 week prior to the event. In case the payment is not received by this deadline, the registration needs to be cancelled. Payment can be settled by Credit Card. Cheques will not be accepted

Cancellations must be notified in writing to the EANM Office. Telephone cancellations cannot be accepted. Substitutions will be accepted if the name and e-mail address of the substitute are sent to the EANM Office 4 weeks prior to the event. After this date, we cannot grant any refund for cancellations. Any refund will take place after the respective course. EANM will not be held liable for cancellation fees of hotels, airlines or other means of transportation.
