Supporting and empowering the next generation of nuclear medicine professionals is a core pillar of ESMIT’s educational mission. In close collaboration with the EANM Young Professionals Council (YPC), ESMIT develops and delivers targeted educational initiatives designed to address the specific needs, challenges, and aspirations of early-career professionals in nuclear medicine.
This partnership ensures that young professionals are actively involved in shaping high-quality, relevant, and forward-looking educational opportunities, while fostering early engagement with the EANM educational ecosystem.
As part of this collaboration, ESMIT integrates young-professional-focused content across its educational portfolio, ensuring accessibility, visibility, and relevance for trainees and early-career clinicians, scientists, technologists, radiopharmacists, and physicists.
Selected ESMIT courses include a dedicated Young Professionals (YP) track, specifically designed to address:
Foundational knowledge and clinical skills
Career development and professional orientation
Emerging topics and innovations in nuclear medicine
Practical insights from experienced professionals and peers
Courses that include this dedicated track are clearly marked with a Young Professionals (YP) seal on the ESMIT e-learning platform, allowing participants to easily identify educational content tailored to their career stage.
In addition to year-round educational initiatives, ESMIT and the EANM Young Professionals Council collaborate closely during the annual EANM Congress.
A key highlight of this collaboration is the joint ESMIT–Young Professionals lunch symposium, organised during the EANM Congress. This interactive session provides:
Insight into educational pathways and opportunities within ESMIT
Discussion of career development, training, and future perspectives
Direct exchange between young professionals, ESMIT faculty, and EANM representatives
The symposium serves as a platform for dialogue, networking, and inspiration, strengthening the connection between young professionals and the wider EANM educational community.
Through this collaboration, ESMIT and the EANM Young Professionals Council share a common goal:
to support lifelong learning, encourage early engagement, and help shape confident, well-prepared professionals who will drive the future of nuclear medicine.
By integrating young professionals into its educational strategy, ESMIT reinforces its commitment to inclusive, innovative, and sustainable education across all career stages.
