SUMMARY:Nuclear Medicine in Breast Cancer Based on FOCUS Meeting 6
DESCRIPTION:Breast cancer is the most relevant cancer in women worldwide. It is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer (after lung cancer) and the first leading cause of cancer-related death in women\, being the fourth globally regardless of gender. By 2040\, breast cancer is predicted to increase to over 3 million new cases and 1 million deaths per year. \n\n\n\nStaging patients with breast cancer is challenging due to its heterogeneous nature and presentation. Imaging is of utmost importance in all clinical settings\, particularly\, in staging\, assessing therapy response\, and detecting recurrence. Despite the well-stablished usefulness of radiologic modalities\, Nuclear Medicine has demonstrated an important role to play in breast cancer\, which has been increasingly supported by strong scientific evidence. Considering the patient’s long survival\, the benefits of assessing active tumour in an accurate way\, gain major importance in these patient’s care. \n\n\n\nThe recent equipment and radiopharmaceutical developments have opened the path to improve tumour characterization through several imaging possibilities. Currently\, the challenge is to use the correct combination of equipment and tracer at the right time. Furthermore\, homogenize imaging and clinical procedures is becoming even more important. \n\n\n\nDuring this course\, the highlights from the consensus reached during the multidisciplinary EANM Focus Meeting 6 about Nuclear Medicine diagnostics and therapeutics possibilities will be comprehensively presented and discussed in a close way between the faculty and attendees. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister nowRegistration is now open\, save yourself a seat! SUMMARY:Focus on FDG PET/CT in Inflammatory and Infectious Diseases
DESCRIPTION:Inflammation comes from the Latin word inflammare\, to ignite or to set on fire – we want to ignite your interest in imaging inflammation and infection. \n\n\n\nInflammatory and infectious diseases can be clinically challenging. Many are systemic with highly variable clinical presentations and sometimes vague and non-specific symptoms and findings. Association with implanted material like artificial heart valves\, joint or vascular prostheses may hamper imaging or give rise to non-specific findings. \n\n\n\nAlthough the imaging strategy may still be considered unclarified in some settings\, [18F]FDG-PET/CT is now established as a key modality in the diagnostic workup of several inflammatory and infectious diseases. The course aims to provide the participants with an overview of the evidence and practical use of [18F]FDG-PET/CT in suspected inflammation and infection and covers the most well-established indications. \n\n\n\nLed by European experts\, the sessions mix short overview lectures with interactive sessions to allow participants to engage in discussions and exchange experiences on daily practices with each other and the faculty. \n\n\n\nRegister nowThe course is fully booked. Please contact us at esmit@eanm.org if you would like to be added to the waiting list! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearning Objectives\n\n\n\n\nTo provide general insights into the use of [18F]FDG PET/CT in suspected or manifest inflammation and infection\, e.g. patient preparation and protocols\n\n\n\nTo provide insights into how and when to use [18F]FDG PET/CT in suspected or manifest specific inflammatory diseases\, e.g. vasculitis\, polymyalgia rheumatica\, other reumatologic diseases\, and  sarcoidosis\n\n\n\nTo provide insights into how and when to use [18F]FDG PET/CT in suspected or manifest specific infectious diseases\, e.g. fever and inflammation of unknown origin\, blood stream infections\, osteomyelitis and spondylodiscitis\, cardiac and vascular infections\n\n\n\nTo provide some insights into novel developments with this domain\, e.g. FAPI\, bacteria-specific tracers\, and long axial field of view scanners\n\n\n\nTo facilitate an open discussion on pro and cons of [18F]FDG PET/CT in suspected or manifest inflammation and infections\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTarget Audience\n\n\n\nNuclear medicine specialists with basic experience in reading [18F]FDG-PET/CT in inflammatory and infectious diseases. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgrammeView the Programme\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFaculty\n\n\n\n\n\nSoren HessSpeakerOdense\, Denmark \n\n\n\n\n\nOlivier GheysensSpeakerBrussels\, Belgium \n\n\n\n\n\nAyah NawwarSpeakerBristol\, UK \n\n\n\n\n\nGiorgio TregliaSpeakerLugano\, Switzerland \n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration Details\n\n\n\nRegistration FeeMode of PaymentCancellation Policy\n\nCourse Fee               € 950.- \n\n\n\nRegistration Fee includes: \n\n\n\n\nElectronic Course Book\, including all Slides\n\n\n\nCoffee & Lunch Breaks\n\n\n\n\nRegistration Fee does NOT include: \n\n\n\n\nTravel to the Venue\n\n\n\nAccommodation\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration fees need to be paid 1 week prior to the event. SUMMARY:Surgery in Neuroendocrine Neoplasms (NENs)
DESCRIPTION:Neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) are a rare but clinically significant group of malignancies arising from neuroendocrine cells\, often presenting in the gastrointestinal tract or lungs. While NETs account for a small fraction of overall cancer cases\, their incidence is steadily rising. Radioguided surgery has emerged as a highly effective approach for treating NETs\, particularly in cases of primary tumours or oligometastatic disease\, where nuclear medicine imaging precisely localizes the lesions and surgical resection is feasible. \n\n\n\nThis session will explore the current landscape of radioguided surgery\, with a specific focus onneuroendocrine tumour applications. SUMMARY:Japanese vs. European View on Amyloid Imaging and Therapy (in collaboration with JSNM)
DESCRIPTION:The advent of FDA approved anti-AB drugs such as Aducanumab and Lecanemab is changing not only the therapeutic prospectives for patients but also the diagnostic flow-charts. However\, due to differences in clinical processes and insurance systems in each country\, the use of amyloid PET in the diagnostic tree currently varies from country to country. In Europe\, CSF diagnosis is often performed first and amyloid PET is performed in selected patients. In Japan\, only either CSF diagnosis or amyloid PET is covered by public insurance\, so there is a trend toward performing the more expensive PET first. The use of amyloid PET in the setting of anti-AB therapy monitoring\, and its exact positioning in the biomarkers  flow-chart is not yet clearly defined. This webinar will present recent findings on the usefulness of amyloid PET and the differences in actual use between Europe and Japan. \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives: tba \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSave yourself a FREE seatEnter the eLearning store to register for the course. SUMMARY:FDG-PET/CT in Breast Cancer
DESCRIPTION:Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide and it is still one of the leading causes of morbi-mortality\, therefore being a major concern. 2-[18F]FDG PET/CT is commonly used in the clinical management of patients with breast cancer\, with significant impact on clinical management. Currently\, there is robust evidence supporting the usefulness of 2-[18F]FDG PET/CT in the initial staging of patients with locally advanced and metastatic breast cancer\, in the early assessment of treatment response and in the early detection of recurrence. The first presentation of this webinar will summarize the recently published “Joint EANM-SNMMI guideline on the role of 2-[18F]FDG PET/CT in no special type breast cancer” which was endorsed by other relevant societies in the subject of breast cancer (ACR\, ESSO\, ESTRO\, EUSOBI/ESR\, and EUSOMA). Updated information to support the recommendations to perform 2-[18F]FDG PET/CT in no special type breast cancer in different clinical settings will be provided. Despite no special type breast cancer presenting high 2-[18F]FDG avidity\, other breast cancer subtypes seem to be better evaluated with other PET radiopharmaceuticals. Therefore\, the second presentation will address the potential role of [18F]FES\, [89Zr]Trastuzumab\, [18F]Sodium fluoride (NaF)\, [18F]Fluciclovine (FACBC)\, [89Zr]Pembrolizumab and FAPI-ligands in breast cancer. During this webinar we want to brainstorm about the role of PET/CT in the different subtypes and clinical scenarios of patients with breast cancer. The webinar will be enriched by interactive clinical case discussion\, aiming to resemble the challenges found in daily clinical practice. \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives: \n\n\n\n\nGeneral aspects to avoid false positive and false negative findings on 2-[18F]FDG PET/CT.\n\n\n\nDiagnostic accuracy of 2-[18F]FDG PET/CT compared to conventional imaging modalities.\n\n\n\nRecommendations for performing 2-[18F]FDG PET/CT in the initial staging\, in assessing response to therapy and in assessing recurrence.\n\n\n\nAppropriate PET radiopharmaceuticals to better address each breast cancer subtype.\n\n\n\nSpecific characteristics\, physiological biodistribution\, advantages and disadvantages of PET radiopharmaceuticals used in breast cancer beyond 2-[18F]FDG.\n\n\n\nGeneral interpretation criteria to optimize the information provided in the final PET/CT report.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSave yourself a FREE seatEnter the eLearning store to register for the course. SUMMARY:Early Bone SPECT in Clinical Practice
DESCRIPTION:UEMS EACCME has granted the accreditation of 8.5 CME credits for this event. \n\n\n\nEarly phase SPECT has the potential to expand the diagnosis spectrum of disphosphonate scintigraphy in non-oncologic situations. Incorporated in a clinical routine\, it has the ability to focus the nuclear medicine physician attention on the most inflammatory lesions whichever they might be osseous\, para-osseous ou extra-osseous. Our 1.5 day course is intended to be a practical workshop for nuclear medicine physician interested in nuclear osteo-articular imaging\, whether they have an experience in early phase SPECT or not. It will cover the physiology of early phase physiology\, technical aspects\, interpretation guide\, most common type of lesions encountered\, with an emphasis on anatomy and CT semiology and an outlook on targeted treatment such as synoviorthesis. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearning Objectives\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTarget Audience\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow and when to perform an early phase SPECT\n\n\n\nHow to integrate early phase\, late phase\, CT and clinical findings to elaborate a diagnosis\n\n\n\nHow to articulate our diagnosis with therapeutic tools such as synoviorthesis\, corticosteroid infiltrations and other methods\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNuclear medicine physician\, junior or senior\, with an interest in hybrid imaging and osteoarticular field.
