Hybrid Imaging, SPECT/CT and PET/CT encompasses not only the well-known nuclear medicine cameras (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography, SPECT and Positron Emission Tomography, PET) but also the CT-camera (Computed Tomography, CT), which can be used as a device to determine the attenuation of the radiation emitted from the radiopharmaceutical within the patient making it possible to perform a thorough attenuation correction, and to localise the radiation sources within the patient. Using the CT for this purpose, the radiation dose can be kept at a lower level. There is however also the possibility to use the CT for diagnostic purposes, resulting in radiological images with considerably increased image quality. Using the CT also for diagnostic purposes will add significantly to the radiation dose of the patient. The justification and optimization process of the CT-imaging is always important but especially when using the CT also for diagnostic purpose. This webinar will focus on the optimization process of Hybrid Imaging with special attention to the CT.
Learning Objectives: The aim of this webinar is to highlight the optimization process of the CT in order to avoid unecessary radiation dose to the patient.
