Soft Skills in Nuclear Medicine

In addition to technical and clinical expertise, nuclear medicine professionals increasingly need soft skills to navigate today’s complex healthcare and research environments. Communication, leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, and research literacy are all essential to ensure that knowledge is effectively shared, collaborations thrive, and patient care continues to advance.

The ESMIT Soft Skills area has been designed to provide a dedicated space where nuclear medicine specialists can strengthen these transversal competencies. By developing such skills, professionals are better equipped to work across disciplines, to participate in international projects, and to contribute meaningfully to the growth of our field.

Current Projects:
  • Research Methods Series
A structured programme that introduces key aspects of research design, methodology, and data interpretation. This series aims to support professionals who wish to start or enhance their participation in clinical and scientific research projects. By improving research literacy, we not only empower individuals but also strengthen the evidence base of nuclear medicine as a whole.

This is just the beginning. ESMIT will continue expanding the Soft Skills portfolio, offering additional training opportunities that complement clinical and technical expertise with the personal and professional competencies needed in today’s healthcare landscape. If there are any specific topics which you would wish us to focus on, please do not hesitate to drop us a line!
